Summary

The Research Associate will support immunodiagnostic assay development using the product development process. S/he will work under the direction of the Research Scientist’s guidance to execute daily experiments and work with multifunctional teams, analyze data sets, write protocols/documents, and generate reports. The incumbent must have the technical insights to troubleshoot complex problems, work with multifunctional teams, analyze data sets, write protocols/SOPs, and generate technical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in projects for Biomarker/IVD assay development in various disease areas.
  • Analyzes data, keeps accurate notebooks/records of experiments, write technical reports and follow SOPs
  • Assists with the establishment of protocols and procedures.
  • Executes the evaluation and qualification of materials following established protocols and procedures.
  • Executes assay verification and validation with the team.
  • Assists with identifying needs and sourcing of materials, samples, and other critical materials, as well as supplies.
  • Ensures quality in work, such as raw data records being accurate, complete, and in appropriate order, and meeting protocol and SOP specifications and GLP requirements.
  • Executes other assignments by upper management as needed.

Required Education/Experience

  • BS/MS in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemistry, or another science/engineering field.
  • 1-3 years of related industry experience in ELSIA, IVD immunodiagnostics product development, and other applicable methods to testing Raw Materials and Reagents.
  • Familiar with automated instruments
  • Experience with antibody, antigen, microparticle, and reagents
  • Assay verification and validation
  • Protein purification and conjugation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with biochemistry laboratory tasks, familiarity with immunoassays is a plus
  • Must be willing to handle human whole-blood, plasma and/or serum samples
  • Previous experience with antibody selection and conjugation, protein purification, characterization, and labeling is a plus
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills along with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge, expertise, and troubleshooting in analytical method development,
